We’re obsessed with the Scarecrow from The Wiz Live! on NBC, and now we’re dying to know about Elijah Kelley, the adorable 29-year-old actor that brought him to life. We did some digging and came up with five facts to help you get to know Elijah. Check them out, here!

We learned a lot about Elijah from his performance as the lovable Scarecrow in The Wiz Live! , like he’s incredibly handsome, a fantastic actor and has some killer dance moves. 1. You can see Elijah perform (and hear his amazing voice) in some major family favorites like Hairspray, This Is 40, and Strange Magic. He had an amazing role in Hairspray as Seaweed, and totally killed it!
2. Elijah is a huge Michael Jackson fan, and was honored to be taking on the role of the Scarecrow after him. “I don’t want to outdo Mike. I don’t want to overdo,” he added at a SiriusXM town hall. “There’s big footprints to fill, but I know that God’s blessed me with the ability to honor.” Honor he did!
3. This is Elijah’s second time working with Queen Latifah, the first was in Hairspray in 2007.
