The nominees for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were unveiled
yesterday and a few artists felt a bit disappointed, including Nicki Minaj. Taylor Swift
took the lead with her nine nominations, seven of those specifically
for “Bad Blood,” which was nominated in the top category, Video of the
Year. Minaj received two nominations for “Anaconda” in Best Female Video
and Best Hip-Hop Video. But as she wrote on Twitter, she was
disappointed “Anaconda” didn't get nominated for Video of the Year and
for "Feeling Myself” not being nominated at all.
Among all of Nicki's tweets about the VMAs, she wrote, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.” The other two females nominated for that group is Taylor Swift and Beyonce, but Minaj has made it very clear she's not slamming her "Feeling Myself" collaborator - which only leaves us to Taylor... Hence, Taylor's quick response to Nicki on Twitter, "I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.” Ops!
