Are we seeing a ghost? Has one of the biggest conspiracy theories that have ever existed, that Tupac Shakur never actually died, right this whole time? WE have so many questions after seeing this pic of a man who looks quite like the legendary rapper, who tragically died in 1996, spotted in Atlanta the week of December 14. Spoiler alert, guys: it’s not the real Tupac. Sorry to let you down! The man in question is Demetrius Shipp, Jr., an actor who’s portraying the rapper in his biopic, All Eyez On Me. Demetrius is obviously a Tupac doppelgänger, and the fact that he’s such a spot-on ringer for the rapper means this is going to be one amazing movie. CLICK HERE to see that pic!
The biopic, according to TMZ, spans the rapper’s entire life, including his untimely death in 1996 when he was just 25 years-old. Production of the film started in Atlanta in early December 14; famed music video director Benny Boom is taking the helm. Producer L.T. Hutton reportedly approached Demetrius for the part because of his uncanny similarities to the rapper, despite the fact that he had no acting experience. He took acting classes and jumped right in!
Tupac’s death is one of the most discussed tragedies in the music business. Murdered at such a young age, the rapper had such unexplored talent taken away from him; his album, All Eyez On Me, for which the biopic is named, is one of the best-selling albums in the United States.
On the night of September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot multiple times in Las Vegas by unknown assailants who pulled up next to his car.One of the bullets punctured his lung, and he was placed on life support machines, in a medically induced coma. On the night of September 13, 1996, Tupac died; the cause of death was determined to be respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds.
