Cindy Crawford Retiring

Whoa! One of the biggest supermodels of all time, Cindy Crawford, revealed in an all-new interview that she plans to retire from modeling after her 50th birthday, which is on Feb. 20. She confessed she’s ready to ‘move on.’

The modeling industry is about to lose one of its greatest supermodels. Cindy Crawford, 49, is ready to say goodbye to modeling once she turns 50. The model and mom-of-two admitted the big news in an interview with Rhapsody magazine. Cindy said she’s tired of “reinventing” herself and is ready to move forward.

Cindy turns 50 years old on Feb. 20 and is releasing a new book, Becoming Cindy Crawford, to commemorate the occasion. During her interview with United Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Rhapsody, Cindy dropped the bombshell that she’ll be quitting modeling once she hits the half-century mark.“Or maybe not say goodbye,” she said. “But move on.”
“I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore,” she continued in the interview. “And that’s OK. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”
Cindy cemented herself as a legendary supermodel in the ’90s. She’s graced the cover of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Allure. The 5-foot-9-inch beauty has walked in runway shows for Chanel, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Valentino and more. The red Versace dress she wore to the 1991 Academy Awards is considered one of the most iconic fashion statements. Oh, and who can forget her epic 1992 Pepsi commercial?
