Premier League - Paper Round: Terry to play with Chelsea second team

John Terry is to face the ignominy of playing for Chelsea's second team, while Marcos Rojo very nearly left Manchester United. That and more from Monday's papers.

'Terry relegated to Chelsea second team' - John Terry was left on the bench for Chelsea's last Premier League and Champions League matches. But if that wasn't bad enough, his place in the team will be made clear this week when he plays with an entirely second-choice squad against Walsall in the League Cup, according to a report in the Daily Mirror. Terry is one of a few older players now questioning their future at Stamford Bridge and his relationship with Jose Mourinho appears to be in tatters.
Paper Round's view - Being benched in meaningful matches is bad enough and while that made his second-choice status plenty clear, but there is added humiliation to playing in the League Cup against a League One side. Mourinho doesn't have a choice, quite frankly - Terry needs to stay fit and the Blues need someone to play if they're going to rest the first team - but that doesn't make it any easier on Terry. He has to know his days at the club are numbered now.
