The Top 11 came to play on the Nov. 23 episode of ‘The Voice!’ The remaining contestants took the stage to sing live once again, and everyone left is just SO good. Get the scoop on everything that went down right here!
Season 9 of The Voice is in full swing! The competition continued on Nov. 23, when the Top 11 artists performed live for America’s votes. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell and Gwen Stefani all worked hard to prepare their remaining team members for this next stage, and the singers did not disappoint. Read our full episode recap right here!Up next, Team Blake’s Barrett Baber, who has been a fan favorite since the beginning of the show. Sticking to his country roots, he performed Tanya Tucker’s classic “Delta Dawn,” and gave it a bit of a rock/soul twist to show his personal style. His coach was on his feet and smiling big afterward and the crowd went completely wild. “You made a song that has nothing to do with going to church…you just took us to church,” Blake raved. Enough said!
Gwen’s contestant, Korin Bukowski, who was in the Bottom 2 and instantly saved by America last week, had a lot to prove. She decided to sing “Only Hope,” giving her a chance to show off her soft but mesmerizing voice once again, and it was just what she needed! Also, can we just discuss how Korin is looking more and more like her coach each week!? Amy Vachal (Team Adam) took on Taylor Swift for her performance. Her coach had a clear vision of what he wanted her to do with the hit “Blank Space,” and it once again gave the singer a chance to show how she can put such a unique spin on a well-known song (remember what she did with “Hotline Bling” last week)?!
Zach Seabaugh, the teenage heartthrob of the show from Blake’s team, sang the country love song “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?” when he took the stage, and (once again) the ladies went absolutely nuts! Zach is so much more than his adorable looks, though — he really does have some pipes! Plus, he knows how to work the crowd, which is a major plus. Next, Pharrell’s second and final singer, Madi Davis, gave a rendition of U2’s “Love Is Blindness,” and once again, I’m beyond blown away at the fact that she’s only 16. Her singing was so mesmerizing, and Pharrell even rushed the stage to give her a hug — well deserved!
Despite being only 15 years old, Braiden Sunshine took on the 80s song “True” by the Spandau Ballet, which his coach, Gwen, hoped would help the audience once again forget just how young he is. Well, it totally worked…Braiden seemed way beyond his years while on that stage. It was so awesome! Season 9 frontrunner Jordan Smith was up next, and killed it as usual with Jessie J’s “Who You Are.” I mean, there’s no words for this guy at this point…he’s incredible. Let’s just leave it at that!
Another country singer from Blake’s team took the stage next, and Emily Ann Roberts once again won us over with her adorable charm and great voice when she sang “Why Not Me” by The Judds. Blake helped Emily “bluegrass it up” to fit with her style, and she slayed, as always. Get it, girl! Closing out the night was Jeffery Austin, Gwen’s final contestant, and what a way to end the night! Jeff belted out Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” and proved just what he set out to do: Take a pop/dance song and make it his own. This is going to be one tough decision for America when it comes to voting!
