Dascha Polanco, 33, best known for playing pregnant inmate Dayanara Diaz on Orange is The New Black, was accused by a 17-year-old girl of an assault committed on July 29. She’s now facing a court battle and the daunting prospect of being convicted of the crime. Is real jail time in the future for this faux jailbird?

Michelle Cardona, 17, alleges that Dascha attacked her at the star’s upper Manhattan apartment. Dascha allegedly punched Michelle in the head, pulled her hair, and scratched her deeply with her fingernails, according to court documents obtained by Page Six. She claims she suffered “substantial pain” from the incident that left her hospitalized.
It’s unclear what led to the alleged assault, but police reported that Dascha invited Michelle over that day via text message. Dascha now faces four counts of assault and harassment. But Dascha and her lawyer are convinced that this whole matter is an attempt at extortion.
