Tiger Woods made some pretty serious mistakes during his marriage to Elin Nordegren. Shockingly, he doesn’t try to hide those mistakes from his young children! Here’s what he tells them about his sordid cheating scandal.

Tiger Woods’ children may only be 6 and 8 years old, but that doesn’t mean he’s kept his cheating scandal a secret from them. So what has he sad about the mistakes that broke up his marriage to their mother, Elin Nordegren, 35? We have the details, here.

It’s been half a decade since the golf star cheated on his wife Elin in 2009, but we’re still talking about it. Surprisingly, so is he. Tiger admitted in a new ABC interview on Dec. 3 that he’s not shy about taking the blame for his divorce with his children. “I’ve taken the initiative with the kids, and told them up front, ‘Guys, the reason why we’re not in the same house, why we don’t live under the same roof, Mommy and Daddy, is because Daddy made some mistakes,'” said Tiger to ABC.
The reason that he’s so forthcoming instead of trying to shelter his kids from the shameful information is that he knows he can’t protect them from the internet forever. “I just want them to understand before they get to Internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something,” said Tiger. “I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I’ll just tell them the real story.” We have to admit, we kind of admire him for taking the blame and holding himself responsible for his actions. Plus, it seems like his priorities have changed over the past 5 years.

“Now to watch my kids and play sports and to grow up and participate, and even teach them how to become better, oh my God, it gives me so much joy. I can’t imagine not being able to do that as I get older,” he said. “My kids are more important to me than anything else in the world.” Atta boy, Tiger! We hope that he can maintain his allegiance to his family and continue to be a good dad.
